Solution What is Hosting ?
Web Hosting is the term for the physical ‘hosting’ of a web site, or where the files physically ‘live’.

Generally, a web hosting company will ‘host’ a web site on their servers (usually for a specified fee). There are varying levels of web hosting ranging from basic shared web hosting to comprehensive dedicated server hosting. The type of web hosting a person requires depends on the amount of space a web site will require (ie: what size the files are), the amount of traffic a web site will get, and the hosting features that a site will require.

Shared server hosting is the most cost-effective means of publishing a web site. In the past, shared server hosting was perceived to give the user less control over their site, with poor security and site performance problems usually due to the number of other sites on the server. Recently many leading web hosting solution providers have begun to introduce more advanced and comprehensive shared server hosting solutions, so this is no longer the case.

What is Server Hosting?
If our business hosting packages do not meet your project requirements,Fivio.com offer a range of managed services to provide you with a dedicated hosting platform on a server provided by either Fivio.com or yourself. These two specific options are explained below:

Dedicated Server Solution
A dedicated server solution involves the web host supplying a user with their own web server. This type of web hosting is ideal for someone managing a large site or multiple sites.

A dedicated server gives the user more security and reliability compared to a shared server, as well as more software and configuration options.

Co-location Server Hosting
A co-location server is a server which is owned by the user but is housed by the web host.

A co-location server is very much like a dedicated server, the only real difference being that instead of web host providing the client with a server, the client supplies their own. With co-location, the user has pretty much full control over the entire server, the main drawback being that the user may face increased costs for software, security and maintenance.
